Glen Loth 1
Its not everyman who is lucky enough to have his daughter take to sharing his hobby. Blessed as I am, my nine year old is an intergral part of my crew. She is particulaly fond of my/our new season pole hob "Monster" who is showing signs of being a good worker with a nice disposition to boot. So when she spied a local advert for "ferrets for sale" I was obliged to investigate. I was much put off on arrival at the vendors when he proceeded to don his WELDING GLOVES as we walked towards his cages!!! "these haven,t had much handling" he said. Well the whole thing was a bunfight, too many ferrets, cages too small(and filthy), etc . Well he started pulling young ferts out of their cage wih his gloves on and putting them in a sort of exercise cage. The youngen saw two yellow hobs that caugh her eye. I picked up the first one (bare handed) and he seemed ok but a little nippy, as could be expected. I put him down and gently grabbed the other. This one relaxed in hand fairly quickly and I passed him to my "head ferret wrangler". After a few minutes without any dramas the decision was easily made. "Mr Yellow" has joined our crew. He seems a nice fert, we will find out if he,s a worker! He took to the harness like a duck to water. Mr Yellow with his new boss. Getting used to the harness/lead heres hoping he is capable of earning his spot in the crew, cheers Quote Link to post
