Depends on the water temperature, but we had our first day out (see 'Unlucky Mink' thread on Lurchers, Running Dogs and Hounds Section) yesterday. Most packs start around Easter, but with Easter being early this year, I'd suggest that most will be up and away by mid-April. Season will finish late September to mid-October and overlaps Autumn Hunting, which makes for some very long days. Where are you based? Go to the following address for a list of Hunts (http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/competitionnews/article.php?aid=37804). Not all Hunts publish their details, because of previous anti activity, but it will give you some contact numbers to start with. Make sure that you have reliable references. Mink Hounds packs are very easy to follow, so they get some serious trouble from Anti's if their meeting place is discovered.
