SportingShooter 0
I was having a walk around the shoot earlier with the gun and i had shot a few things, when i noticed something sneaking through a holly bush on one of the hedges ,i could hear some sort of calling, so i went and had a look, as i got within about 10 yrds there was a Hen pheasant walking up the inside of the hedge followed by three young uns , they cant have been more than about two weeks old.The pair of pheasants must have been paired up and the hen laid the eggs by mid february. Is this an early record or has global warming gone mad. ss06 P.s as i saw them i remembered the old adage no camera no pictures sorry.

Not really surprised its low though, it is only the end of march after all. i wouldnt expect to see chicks until early may normally and thats early. i doubt the ones i saw today will survive if it gets much colder or perhaps charlie will nab them. Thanks ss06
