Here are some pictures of my hounds Smooth Bitch saluki She is 9 now and not in the best condition due to years of serious medical conditions. She did catch her first hare when she was 8mtsh, not my intention at all Here is my saluki x greyhound(?) He loves coursing my lurcher And my lurcher Deerhound/Greyhound x Saluki/Greyhound So thats me and my hounds, I realise there are some of you who don't think hunting dogs are pets. So I may not but what you want on your site?? Quote Link to post

cúagusgiorraí 57
My dogs are pets that I hunt with, thats the way I see it. You should try a bit of lamping for bunnies, the dogs will love it. Quote Link to post

I guess I meant working dogs that don't work! We only have deer, fox and hare where I walk, not allowed to touch them. but they do get the odd course Quote Link to post
Missie 1
Your hounds are a credit to you! Especially Savy who has had so many problems, many people would have given up on her. Plenty of working breeds do not live in working homes and for the most part they are still happy, healthy dogs. Yours get as much running and off lead exercise as a lot of workers from what I can tell and look at the compliments Spook got at Peterborough... You are taking time to read and learn from threads. You aren't insulting anyone or anything like that, I can't see why your presence could be seen as a problem. Quote Link to post

I realised form one post that a lot of the people would rather shoot their dogs then let them become a pet only so i was just checking! Thats all Quote Link to post
Missie 1
Mine are all rescue too and have never been properly worked, other than bits and bobs although I do plan on bringing Griff on. Quote Link to post

whin 463
im afraid there a big diffrence from apet dog than a true working dog who wants the fur more than anyyhting ,but all in alll if they are pets they are pets at leasst you dont bullshit and say you do this and that like some of them on these channels mate see you away hunting now suns up but cold but need to exersise the local rabbits with the dogs for a few hours Quote Link to post

spookster 0
I am pretty sure both the black and brindle dog are more then capable of working and I would be lieing if I said they never took anything. The brindle dog was breed by a guy who wanted two more dogs. He did very little with the pups and left them in a shed until they were 6mths. They were all undersocialised and it has taken a lot of time to get him to be a well adjusted dog. The black saluki cross I got at 18mths he only has eyes for deer, he's not interested in fox, would probably be interested in rabbit but we don't have any around here. These dogs didn't start out as pets they have become pets due to their circumstances, I'm not saying they would be the best working dogs, but I am sure it wouldn't be long if I took them hunting to get them working! My saluki cross has attracted a lot of attention lure coursing by working guys who wanted to put him onto thier bitch, but for me they are only pets but I make sure they have the best life and we spend hours over the hills twice a day!! I am find all the running dog posts very interesting and learning more about the dogs!! Quote Link to post
