talked to a few blokes in the terrier game who say they prefer bitches as they seem to be more steady.some even said theyd never work a dog.iv only owned dog terriers so cant comment.just wondering waht all the lads on here prefer?

i own both dogs and bitches and i think that dogs start earlier and are a harder but on the other hand my bitches started at about 17/18 mths and are consitant and reliable nice steady bayers but i have owned the odd hard bitch aswell. if it works it works regardless of gender

thats what i was thinking mate aslong as they graft they could be either for me.

i prefere to keep bitches for the simple reason they seem to get along with me better, i have and do keep dogs and i think youve got a higer chance of them making the grade than a bitch but at the end of the day its personall preference

i prefer bitches but i've a dog at the moment. just a preference. doesnt really matter as long as they work. bitches are less likely to fight and i think they bond better with you and look up to you more.

a good honest bitch is worth her weight in gold for breeding future workers and is a must in any kennell but when the digging gets tough i prefare a dog as they are stronger and seem to push themselve s a wee bit harder to get the job done.thats my opinion anyway good luck in what ever you choose
