Guest Ditch_Shitter
I think I'm going to be buying a new HDD some time. Just left the CD in. I know it's set to Boot from CD. I went into the cluttered OS and Restarted. Message I'm now staring at is: INF file txtsetup.sif is corrupt or missing, status 14. Setup cannot continue. Press any key to exit. So; I can still access and work from the original OS. I can't get at the fresh OS which I loaded - can't remember why / what That says, off hand. But it's f*cked. What I've obviously done here is, in rather over zealously following Speedo's advice to delete the " My Doccuments " stuff, I've dug a little too deeply and slung out the baby with the bath water. I've dumped some vital file Hey ho. Wouldn't be the first PC I've murdered in that way. At least I know enough about the things now to know that I can still use the OS left available to me. And a nice sized HDD - as and when I can afford it - will set me up like new. Mheanwhile, way This SOB's been behaving for the past 48 hours? I think I may as well sling this thing aside and just soldier on with that crowded OS. It can't be any slower / worse than this b*stard, else it just wouldn't be working! In summary then; I've done all we've been through. Made one mistake and am now back where I left off when I first switched the new PC on! But hey! At least I got the bugger Defragged! Cheers, lads! Guest Ditch_Shitter
Make no difference or not, mate; That's what it said and I'm now on the PC. Much faster than the LT. Only bother is it just won't accept Yahoo IMS, for some unfathomable reason. So; What sortof size of HDD should I be looking foreward to treating this baby to?

Guest Ditch_Shitter
Hmm. Right'o then. I suppose, considering this one's only 40 and already has Two lots of XP on it, they do rather carry some. Plus I have my little external here. I store my lifes work on that - really must get that replicated somewhere too. Was saying that to Dean o only this afters. F*cking boat comes in though, I'm getting a Mac " Box ". Just the basic 'computer' to which ye add ye own peripherals. Microsoft just nauseates me on so many levels.
