Deker 3,491
I was in Marlborough all day yesterday helping a pal on his Pheasant shoot, 1560 acres of brilliant land. Brought in most of the feeders, little bugger uses 50 gallon drums, ******* big, heavy and awkward! Anyway got there just before 10.00 am and it was nearly 16.00 before I knew it, reward was a trip into some of the woodland after the pigeon, 2 hours later and the winds were nearly at Gale force, birds were coming in about 60mph we had just 11 between the 3 of us, very hard birds but a challenge and great fun nevertheless! Like I say the land is the business, spooked a fox just after we got there, none of us had a gun to hand at the time, and spooked another just as we headed into the woods for the pigeon later, their lucky day!! Lost count of the deer we saw (all Roe this time but the land has everything except the Reds and CWD) after we passed to 40 mark, and loads of pheasant, and 6 partridge seen as well. 4 high seats on the land so as you can imagine I was in heaven, back soon I hope to spend some time in the chair (when it's a bit warmer and less windy)!!!
