1st x deerhound

i was out this morning ferreting for a couple of hours with my deerhound x.this is the first time he has been ferreting and he cought 8 out of 10 rabbits.not bad for his first time

i hes good wee the ferrets doesnt bother them when they come out the holejust looks at them and thats it.the snows gone its pissing down the now.

good to hear you have been able to get out with all this snow about. Good ratio there matie ferreting rabbits can be quite productive, I have had some really good numbers ferreting/dogging, and all my lurchers/first-crossers/deerhounds have taken to it no bother.

None of mine have been too much trouble with ferrets, seem to know they are part of the team..

Great result mbf. My 3/4 x is gettin used to the ferreting game - marking well, just too big when they only run a short distance, but I'm sure she'l some into her own next year when she's a bit older :whistle: :ph34r:

Sure she will I have 28-29 inch pure bred deerhound bitches that took ferreted rabbits easlily, double figures all the time,

I would never have thought of taking my big deer x out ferreting but I might just have to try it now & see what happens
