Deker 3,491
Ok thanks.I only want to hire rifles out for targets. If i did not have a FAC but was a full member would they let hire rifles for target. I have been looking on some police websites and i now hear you need a sponsor who has a FAC to get you into the club.I dont bloody know anyone who has a rifle. I don't know if you are misunderstanding something or it is simply badly worded but I am Secretary of a Home Office Approved Club at Bisley. You do NOT need a sponsor to come to the club, and you can come as a guest visitor without any FAC as long as you complete a Section 21 (which I keep). The majority of our guests do however come with a member! If subsequently you wish to become a member you will need to be proposed by a member (which will be simple and easy because if the club was not happy with you as a guest you will already have been told you are no longer welcome), complete the application forms, pay your membership subs to the Treasurer and behave yourself etc. etc! You will then serve a probationary period and upon successful completion of this you will become a full member. Nah mate, I don't think he's misunderstood. The HP club I am a member of needed someone to sponsor a visitor. I happened to bump into one of the committee on AirgunBBS so he did me, but when I took the other half along I had to ask very nicely. I am guessing it's to do with the Home Office approval and some clubs not being approved? Because the fullbore angle from your club is very different to the process I had to have with the rimfire club. (much better actually because I can shoot sooner ) Well...shock, horror, gasp!!! So, yet more bonuses of being Home Office, never been involved in these Micky Mouse Clubs so I didn't realise life was so difficult for them! Edited February 19, 2008 by Deker Quote Link to post
