Malt 379
Went out last night with my mates, Jonesy & Young Eddies. Jonesy had been itching to get out after getting the scope zeroed on his new CZ American. Me on the lamp, Jonesy on the rifle, and Young Eddies as a retriever/lurcher/gate opener! Went to the first farm, seen Charlie in the first field, but he was out of range for the .22LR, so he was left alone! In a way, he helped us, as there were two squatters in the field that wouldn't budge. The first one went belly up, and the next one didn't flinch. So a quick pull on the bolt action, and the second one went the same way! We then walked some more fields with no joy. We then went to Jonesy's next bit of permission, a caravan park. The place was hopping with bunnies! A quick 20 minute walk later, we had another 3 in the bag, it would have been 4, only our retriever wasn't quite fast enough to get to the one whose death dance took him down the side of a bank into thick cover! If we'd have stayed there for any longer, we could have doubled our bag with no problems. The problem was, it was getting bloody cold, and getting on for 12, and I'd fogotten my key! If i'd have had to wake the wife, I'd have been in the sh*t! They'll keep till next time though! The bag. Jonesy with his new toy! I have to give him credit, but he wouldn't have got the buggers if it wasn't for my sterling work with the lamp, and the superhuman efforts of Young Eddies the wonder dog! Quote Link to post
young1982 1
Looks like Jonesy is well happy with his new toy. With a face like that he shouldn't be that hard to spot next time I'm in town, will have to go over and introduce myself Good post maltenby Quote Link to post
