Let's try again

It's a bit bloody quiet on here at the moment boys so get your arses into gear and lets have some articles please....... Jimmy, John, Jim you lads not only have the letter 'J' starting your name but also usually pretty active.

Right I will have a go...........

A short while ago I said that I had sold my fac guns which I did with the possible intention of handing in my fac ticket  HOWEVER  with the possible motion to make all section 2 shotguns reclassed to fac section 1 which is really crazy BUT perhaps I need to keep my fac ticket in case this pointless action does get passed and so becomes law although the police will be so overworked it is untrue, the people in the firearms licensing dept are over stretched now so I cannot think how they will cope, I am waffling.  I decided to rethink my fac as it would not be a good idea to hand it in, so my thoughts in this matter was to buy a rimfire .22lr which would still be very useful on a  couple of perms and with that in mind, I popped into my rfd 2 weeks ago and had a good root in the back store rooms where the less than superb condition or less popular guns were kept. I looked at one or two and took them into the range to try them out, not great but then I came across a BRNO bolt action with a Hawke Airmax AO scope, one mag, Shoulder strap, SAK mod and a bi-pod.  So into the range to see if it was any good, not to start with but it showed some potential, 50 rounds and it was slug on slug (for want of a better term) so a bit of bartering then took place and £80 out of my wallet saw me with a gun with a 'borrowed' slip leave for home.  A very good clean everywhere and a Zulus 5-20 day / night scope fitted ready for leading in but a problem with my car has slowed things down but with luck I will get the zero sorted out to start things moving. then it will be a selection of distance zeros to be done if this wet weather ever buggers off.  A further review of this scope will follow.

While bringing NV into the picture, I have sold my much loved NiteSite Viper as a new plan is in the mix as a pal of mine has bought the last four new version NiteSite add-on nv units which are more compact and when the company closed down someone in China started to make them. When these units turn up, I will be having one to go on my HW110 but I will give more details when I have it in my hand and tried it out over Xmas.

Part two, as I am not able to load it iin one piece.

A few of you know I am a keen sea angler and after 35 years using multiplier reels, a major change in that area for me as I have sold all my reels reverting to fixed spool reels, Daiwa Emblem 45 if that means anything to you. I am a casting instructor for Sea Angler magazine and more and more guys are coming for a coaching session using fixed spool reels and after some serious testing, I can clear 170mt and no possible risk of issues at night so I have converted to the dark side.

I have had a visit or two from a rat or rats in the garden after my bird food which has gone on for some time but on a day when they are making an appearance I am slow with gun. My garden wall is the border to fields with a pond the other side of the wall hence ratty family is living there and they have dug a tunnel from the other side of the wall into my shade border. Well I filled the hole with slate chippings but the little b*****ds dug another. Yesterday in the heavy rain and I do mean heavy, one of the rats kept popping through to get food so I got the 110 ready and slowly opened the lounge window, gone............... this was repeated 3 more times, I was bloody soaked but the 4th time was his mistake with a head on shot it flipped all over as rats do but he was dead and I was wet, my wife came home and fortunately never noticed the curtain was slightly ' damp '.  When the rain eased, I went down the garden to remove it and my word it was a big un. It will be interesting to see if I get more coming to nick the bird food.

Well the outside Xmas lights are strooned all across the front and side of the cottage (25yds) with another string around the porch as it has become a tradition on my daughter's birthday to have the lights on and the Xmas tree up and trimmed. This year we bought a new tree and all new baubles of a different colour to the last 30 years. so it is now all done with all the trimmings in place just before Katie's birthday tomorrow 3rd December. She is 30 but will not allow tradition to go out of the window despite it at times driving me nuts but in a good way.

Wellllll thats enough waffling for tonight so now it your turn, don't just leave it to me boys, get your fingers tapping the keyboard, now back to the TV to watch yet another Christmas film.
