Moochersways 244 Posted Saturday at 13:49 Report Share Posted Saturday at 13:49 Went out to feed the ferrets today and one of my hobs was acting very strangely, couldn't walk in a straight line, banging into the hutch walls, rolling around ect, head tilted one eye slightly bulging, my first thoughts are some kind of stroke? Or head injury.....maybe falling down the ladder in the hutch(not a great height tho) anyone experienced anything of the like? Seemed fine yesterday when I cleaned out and fed them (on dry kibble atm) and apart from that he seemed in good condition, all the other ferrets are lively and fine, I put him down as didn't want him to suffer shame as he was only around 6 years old, anyone have any other ideas what it could be or experienced anything similar? Luckee legs 526
Tough day, although that's a decent age so he had a good life I'm sure Maybe a head injury although I've seen mine fall regularly in the aviary style pen I have and , god knows how, but never seen a serious injury. They seem to always cling on momentarily so their bum swings down and they slide / drop down arse first . Staggering is something I've often seen in aged and ill ferrets, so much so , I view it as a sign their end is coming, maybe days or months. Just once in many years, my ferret group at the time had ear mites and that made them stagger Quote Link to post
