How old/what sort of condition is this in?

Sounds like the valve is sticking on the bottle and you will obviously have to get a new seal, sounds like a chat with BSA or your local dealer could be in order.

has the gun got the old type black seals or new type white seals as the black ones are shite they only last 1 or 2 fills and theyre goosed the white ones are much better and the same price :victory: also when you unscrewed the bottle did you unscrew it quarter turn then dry fire till it wasnt firing air out no more, if not thats the likely cause of seal failure a bad design on bsa part but great gun apart from that.you can unscrew th top off your bottle and look at the valve system if you wish or just take it to the gunshop!!
