whin 463
after hunting and catching large numbers for years when there was a price, the best dogs ive saw were collie types and some good saluki strains most importantly they clean kill and dont rip lumps out them , all in all its no big deal spinning a few roe over the fun then started getting home safely and picking the kill up , caught hundreds and made good money but well the games finishd for a large qauntity a season , but thye eat well and make luvly sausages and burgers , and the dogs like chewing the ribs and offal pre ban , all the besy Quote Link to post

Butler 396
26+, Fast, tight on the jinks, pulls from the shoulders to the neck. Just my opinion for what it is worth but a dog that takes deer in the manner you describe will miss alot more than it will take. I prefer a dog that takes a hock then moves to the throat once the deer is floored Quote Link to post
suluki 2
all my saluki crosses took deer pre ban but the best dogs i have seen on deers 1 was a first cross collie/grey and the other is poacher9991's dog sly! no hesitating strait in for the kill!! some old pics of my dogs..........
