russian sniper 0
Hi am looking at buying a sako finnfire in .22lr but i have been told that they won't extract/eject live rounds. Sometimes i need to make my cz hmr safe and i can extract/eject live rounds no problem! A bit of info about this would be good before i buy it!! ATB Daz Quote Link to post
Guest JohnGalway
That happens at times with my Sako Quad in .22lr. In how ever much I've read on the Finnfire I've not heard of that problem but I do stand by to be corrected Quote Link to post
russian sniper 0
I have been told that it is designed not to extract/eject live rounds, but i thought "why" Just doesn't sound right to me and i want to be sure before i part with any cash ATB Daz Quote Link to post
Deker 3,491
I'm with John on this one, never heard this about any of the 3 finnfires. But I too have heard the odd comment about the quad! Cheers Deker Quote Link to post
russian sniper 0
Thanks guys sounds like it is a fault then. Might just buy a cz american .22lr like my .17HMR Thanks guys ATB Daz Quote Link to post
Guest JohnGalway
Don't give up on the Finnfire RS, find out from someone who owns one before you take the plunge. If I were to go for another .22lr it'd be the Finnfire. Quote Link to post

If I were to go for another .22lr it'd be the Finnfire. I had just about saved up enough pennies for the Hunter version 2 or 3 years back when they released the Quad. To say I was upset was an understatement, no doubt a marketing (money) decision but the Finnfire is an excellent tool in Hunter, Varmint and Range....why oh why was it discontinued???? russian sniper 0
Have also had lots of replies on the airgun bbs and everyone said the same: that it should eject live rounds. Sounds like it may have a problem so might pass on it Thanks for all your help guys! ATB Daz Quote Link to post

ATB Daz Am I getting confused, the Finnfire which is discontinued is excellent (IMHO) but I have reservations about the Quad. Just my view! If you can find a new Finnfire (just possible but unlikely), or a good used one (people tend to hang on to them) I recon you are on a winner! Cheers Deker Quote Link to post
russian sniper 0
It does look in mint condition but if it fails to eject then its got a problem and its not cheap! ATB Daz Quote Link to post

ATB Daz RS If you have found a Finnfire that fails to eject I suspect it does have a problem as the Finnfire does not suffer from this as far as I'm aware, it is only the Quad..they are different guns! Put it like this, if I could find a brand new Finnfire Hunter or a mint used one I would snap it up, but I'm not interested in a Quad. Cheers Quote Link to post
russian sniper 0
Yes its a sako finnfire varmint .22lr with 2 mags and sling in mint condition. Not a mark on it at all ATB Daz Quote Link to post

Shame if this one has a problem, certainly unusual as the build quality is very good. GMK are the Sako importers and can fix anything ...well so they say...could be worth a word with them before you write this one off! Cheers Quote Link to post

Deker 3,491
Here's a pic: Certainly looks the part if you are after the Varmint. Don't really understand the problem with this one, in theory a gun like this should last a "lifetime". We could go on forever about this..is it all ammo it has a problem with, I know some stuff like the CCI 40g subs are a bit tight up the throat which could cause some grief but this should still be able to pull everything out! On the other hand I recently bought the CZ Silhouette, well about a year ago, cracking gun all round! But I still want a Finnfire Hunter! Hope it all works out for you. Cheers Quote Link to post
