Keeps 403
Good pics keeps.... , my terrier eats the young rats...Just found a little spot at the weekend around a barn containing corn, not a load of rats, but enough to get my mates young terrier entered... Someone told me (can't remember who) that maize was an antidote to rat poison, and I have to say the maize game crops down in yorkshire are teaming with rats, so there may be some truth in it There might be more rats there than you realise Ian We only expected half a dozen or so yesterday, so you never know Quote Link to post
Guest MOLLY
Keeps are any of your dogs ever 'funny' with the young/baby rats. My Moll always used to spit them straight back out as if they were poisoned Looks like a brill day, bet you'll all sleep like babies tonight Moll. They just nibble them and drop them Moll. I have seen dogs eat them before, but mine usually dont  Little Lily was interested in them but thats pups for you, she took a lot more interest in todays ratting which I was pleased with - at 10 days old she was dying, I never thought I'd see the day when she was stood with a rat in her mouth Steves 'Rip' eats whole litters then promptly vomits them back up in the car going home  With Moll its like she goes hell for leather as she would with any rat but once it is in her mouth she gets a look of surprise and disgust and drops it, she's a strange old bint How old is Lily now, whats her prognosis? Moll. Quote Link to post

Moll. I am pleased to say mine dont eat them, though lily was chewing on a few on sunday  hopefully we will soon stop that habit. Lily is 8 months now, and the prognosis was very vague, at first we thought she'd be lucky to see a few weeks, but later on the vet said she might live to a year or two, we will just have to see, every day is precious. She has the constitution of an ox though, so I am sure she will push herself to the limit. At present she is as fit as a lop, you would think she was a normal little pup, never stops running around and doesnt seem to tire, so we will see. the only thing she has trouble with is keeping the weight on, she eats at least twice as much as the rest and is on the thin side, but she is very active so maybe thats partly why. pictured yesterday with her mother, double trouble Quote Link to post
