went to the horse stables this morning where i do a bit of ratting the owner came over and asked me if i could tell him what had killed his two ducks that lived on a island on his carp pond in the bottom field it looked like they had come to there feeder on the bank and something had killed one there and chased the other 40 foot up the field .one had hits neck and head missing and the other had four inch of its neck stripped to the bone and snapped.but none of the bodies have been touched the pond backs onto a train embankment he says he as seen mink there and foxs but his wife did not want them thinned out but now its a different thing but whatever done it must of been waitng to get both together. ps. some of his carp have chunks taken out of ther back many thanks

been back today one of the ducks as gone and the other as been dragged back towards the train embankment had a look around and you can see the reeds have been flattened and the embankment is worn away from continual use the width of the track is about a foot or more any way slung the duck in this chaps cage trap and going back tomorrow with the 4/10 and thanks for your advice all being taken on board and will be used in the future cheers

Forget cage traps - get yourself some good fox snares Ben, set them properly (ask if you don't know how) and he'll be there early the next morning waiting for you.

 

Mink don't make foot wide runs, nor do they 'flatten' reeds . . . :wallbash:
