I think that was more to do with a controversial storyline rather than the comparison of each training method. You dont see top racing pigeon fella's taking a leaf from Jack Ducworth's book do you.....

The point i'm making is not all you see on tv is real.......

on the ball nikey any body ever tell ya your a real laugh :whistling: say u where some buzz in school :whistling:

I have one Woz. Brilliant machine and would'nt be without it now.

People are mistaken about thier views regarding these machines, they are not to substitute walking your dog, they are an additional form of keeping your dog fit. I also use mine to keep an injured dog fit when you are not able to walk/run it on uneven land.

The length and speed you use them for depends upon many things including, the size/type of dog, its current fitness. The routine will also vary depending upon injury, and what stage you are at, as you start slow and short and build it up.

I am currently at this stage for my lurcher dog...

Big built dog, approx 28" = A 5min warm up of 23kmph.

15mins @ 39km. (Fast TROT)...never sprint them!

10mins @ 34km. (Slow trot)

Then a 5min warm down of 21km.

The terriers.... 5mins @ 14kmph

15mins @ 27.5.

10mins @ 23.5

5mins @ 14

The warm ups/downs are very important.

At the beginning the times/speeds were much less and this has slowly been built up.

I also use it for an injured lurcher, times are completely different, plus i put the pup on for slow walks to keep her used to it for when she gets older.

I am not saying what i do is right, i could be completely wrong, but i have taken advice from others and these are the routines i currently use.

Dont know if this has been of much help?
