Have you guys heard this?? 18 injured British troops have been treated with blood that has not been screaned or tested, blood supplied by the Americans!!!

For :censored: sake, when will this government start to look after our guys?

I'm ex army and dread to think of what could have been. I also worked as a contractor for a short while in 2004 between jobs before going home to run the farm, and the back up and support services in the private mil/sec sector is vastly better.....

British soldiers injused in action should NOT have to come back to the Uk and wait on huge NHS waiting lists to get treated. It makes me sick!

is that so????? Shocking. It seems like the welfare of our soldier's are becoming less of a priority compared to how much money the government can save.

The scary thing is that ten years ago such a thing would have caused outcry and ministerial job loss but not today, with the NHS the way it is, corruption and scandal rife in Downing Street who even batts an eye lid today!

Well done New Labour..........

yeah, everyone's so caught up in their own problem’s, plus there’s so much trash being thrown around by the media, everyone’s becoming desensitised to everything that’s going on. But still, you would think that the very people who risk their lives for this country, deserve a far better deal than the one they currently have.

Please dont go there ..they shut the Military hospitals after 40 odd years off peace excluding Ireland and Falklands decimate the regiments in reorganisation then decide to go and Fight 3 major wars in ten years..

It would be so funny if it wasnt true

Are these the same hospitals that where treating ex soldiers suffering from post traumatic stress syndrome ? the very soldiers who are now reliant on charities to offer them treatment because the govenment will no longer fund treatment.

soldiers serving in afgan-iraq warzones in general should be on a minimum of 25 g per year tax free, their equipment ect should be second to none, accomadation in the uk should be of exellent standard, they should get reduced interest rates when buying property whilst serving, pensions should be as good as police, firebrigade ect, they should be justly compensated if injured and recieve the best treatment available prompt, weather you believe the war is just or not these mostly young men-women are doing a job under conditions which we can only imagine. hand on heart how many of us would have the balls to be in the same possition, yes before serving soldiers were under a little pressure ie ireland, gulf 1, bosnia, kosovo but nothing compared to whats happening now, its on par with what was happening in vietnam. my hats off to them all.

:clapper::clapper::clapper::clapper::clapper: quite agree. And the police are thinking about action against their wages!!!!

All three forces are under the cosh but the army is and does get the worst deal, their wages are lower that the RN or RAF as are the standards of living accomadation.

This Government doesn't give a toss about them, thats clear!

They never have and to be truthful never will give a toss. There always there with there big cheesy grins smiling and shaking hands with the boys..good for publicity. But regard them with contempt and expect them to do a shitty job for shitty pay shitty equipment .The British army fights above its weight and is respected and revered across the world .But sooner or later will come unstuck and be beaten or badly mauled and then the government of the day may take stock and give them the resources they require. You can only stretch the THIN Red line before it finally snaps..

This blood has been given to them without being screaned for HepB, HepC, HIV or Syphalis!

Crazy!

its easy to donate blood here. just cant have been out of the country in the last six months. anyone can donate it. i've heard of HIV infections coming from blood transfusions. they pay you to donate so of course all the junkies flock to the Red Cross vans!!

its no better for us here in regards to that..... or so i've been told by the people who work for the blood banks.

yeah i give blood, and the best you get is a biscuit and a cup of tea, however, i urge everyone to give blood. Blood only last for a certain length of time, so the need for fresh supplies is constant.

I've heard of people selling blood and sperm in America, and it’s usually those most in need of money, Junky’s and such like, that sell. But by no means are they the only ones. That’s why I agree that, in Britain, we do not pay donators in anyway. However, it's pretty unbelievable that this blood could be given without any test’s to determine it’s safety.

It appales me, as a former (still reserve) soldier the last thing I would think about during life saving surgery is weather the blood being pumped into me is "clean"; most people probably don't evben know the process it "should" go through first, you just expect it to be clean.........diabolical

Well to be honest, soldiers should expect more than that. They should have weapons that worked and didn’t keep jamming. They should have kit that fit’s, and is useful for the purpose they need it for. They shouldn’t have to spend their own pay to buy bits and pieces of equipment that’s vital. They should expect private health care and proper pension, if they are injured physically or damaged mentally. They should be given support after they leave. Etc etc etc

Although some may disagree with me.

what about soldiers that have lost limbs in iraq and afghan being asked to leave a swimming pool where they were having rehab treatment because the mothers complained that their kids were getting upset .... NOW THAT TELLS YOU WHAT THE BRITISH PUBLIC THINKS OF ITS INJURED HEROES .....................
