philpot 5,122
My shooting partner bought two Hawke Airmax Compact scopes for two of his guns BUT he said today that he is going to have to change one of them because he can't see the cross hairs at longer range. Now is it me or what, if you can see the reticle at 20mts, you can see the reticle at 100mts. The reticle doesn't change with distance so I am puzzled with this one. I have been thinking about this over the last couple of hours and I think it is a case of can't see the point of aim clearly with such a fine reticle but what to do. Yes of course he could look for a s/f scope with thicker cross hairs but that will work against him in the field as a smaller target can be lost in the reticle at distance and I like fine hair for that reason. Soooooo, any other ideas guys and also what scope has thicker cross hairs that the Airmax but not so thick that they are just shite but must be s/f, he will want something of a similar quality.
