Hi I try to cut my sticks around 50 odds inches plus but if I see a very good stick which would do for a lady or a child will cut that to dia 25 mm to around 18mm or 1" down to 3/4" my ideal . kipo Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Guest SJM Posted January 8, 2008 Report Share Posted January 8, 2008 Thickness is just as important as length I got banned from walking stick making classes as I kept going mad with the vice over tightening it and pressing too hard when I was filing the horn, used to snap them all the time I ended up making one out of wood, but it was a good one they put it in the local museum. That was when I was about 12/13 I havent made one since as havent had the materials or the tools to make one Quote Link to post Share on other sites
