micky 3,325 Posted December 24, 2019 Report Share Posted December 24, 2019 This Picture came up to-day it's from Boxing Day 1903 and it's a scene that could of been most villages all the Country ,I went on three that I can remember twice Beating and working the ferrets and once as a Gun .The last Drive /Walk of the day was a place called Boys Hill and all us local lads got to have a go , the Field was mainly down to Bracken and Gorse and the idea was to walk in a line up and over then Ferret an open ditch at the bottom , we all had to pick a numbered ball out of a bag for our position in the line and I got the best which was next to the Hedge as we were about to start off my Granddad gave me his Double Barreled 4,10 and said you can have some Cartridges when I think you can be Trusted , that was punishment Shooting one of his b*****d Pheasants the Week before 7 2 Quote Link to post
