MR TEA POT 1,287
Went out for a walk about today just to see what was about.I took a ferret and a few nets and my .410. Seen the farmer who said thank you for shooting the rats near the chicken shed,he saw i had the shotgun and said if i fancy a pheasant then i can shoot a couple . Went and netted up the first warren(and only) Put the ferret in and waited and waited suddenly 2 rabbits bolted in amongest the brash on top of the bank, then back down another hole, ferret comes out and follows, the rabbits bolted again in the bushes and down another hole and it was like that for about half an hour, don't know if they were the same rabbits but they bolted freely. In the end i picked the ferret up and put her in the box. These pics show the bushes on top of the bank the rabbits bolted in to. As you can see from the pics you can not get in to net up and they was just running from hole to hole so i couldn't get a shot off . So back to the car i thought i will go round a few fields taking a few cartridges in my pocket off i went.Walking next to a over grow ditch up poped this hen phessie,up went the gun and down she came . Here is a pic.The gun is a .single barrel .410 who i got from my grandad who died a year ago this month he will be glad it still does the bussiness . Quote Link to post
