fishfish 17
i was talking to a couple of keepers at market, they said theres been a new wave of crime hitting the local shoots, poachers arent intrested in the birds as theyre worthless but the grain in the feed stations in the woods are being emptied presumably by small holders or chicken keepers not able/willing to pay the prices that have doubled in recent months. anyone else noticed this in other areas? or did you think the pheasants were just hungryer? Guest Lord B
I haven't noticed it but I'm not surprised its hapening. Its been toutched on in my "DEFRA" thread; the price of corn is soaring internationally and the demand is too, hugely; the same has been happening with metal with lead; you think its on a small local scale but its a huge worldwide problem............. Guest Ditch_Shitter
That's interesting. So corn is in short supply and prices are rocketing, eh? And what's the major base ingrediant of Rat Baits? So rat bait prices will follow suit. And people will be paying so much for bread, they'll economise by eschewing rat baiting. And the rats will not be killed off. And they'll breed up and they'll be hungry. And what will all those rats be looking for, to eat?
BlueCoyote 0
there's a shortage of corn? or is it because of the biofuel thing? we're going to have price hikes coming soon due to the drought.... oh joy!

Biofuel is partly responsable but not to blame, the climate has ruined crops for a few years and its all caught up. Bread prices are already high, but it will have a knock on efect to......poultry and all sorts of other food stufs........

[] you can expect to pay $7 per hay bail out here right now. and this is country right next to a river. some of its price gouging... "the other guy is doing it, so can i!" and people will pay it.... at the moment we're having a water war between GA and FL... GA has a dam and they are holding back the water for their own use... which is pissing off Floridians who rely on the rivers and wetlands for live stock and farming. does GA care? nope. as long as ATLANTA has fresh clean water to keep their lawns green, they're happy!
