Snap Shot, I found a Sako stainless at a local dealer today in 6.5, $2200, my Mrs just looked at me! What sort of money are you paying over there. I think i'll go back to the Ruger 77, Been looking at Rem 700 but they don't do it in 6.5. Will definitely keep you posted on progress.

 

V-max thanks for your thoughts, much appreciated. Bullet placement would be a lot more precise with the milder calibres I think.

 

Staghound that's because no one uses the 6.5x55 I would say and after reading pages and pages of ballistics and from what blokes on here have told me I have no idea why it isn't used more.

 

FJ, sad to say that price sounds good mate, typically i buY my guns from england or the north of ireland as in the south they just tend to rip you off.

but around the 1000 stg would be a typical price that is 2238 aus dollors mate. so thats not bad considering the shipping and all......good luck with the search., p.s. heres a tip never take your other half to a hunting store...........
