Buying somewhere here is not going to be a peaceful retreat mate unless you buy outside the city and that is gonna be a lot cheaper Plus side buying in BCN; you can rent it out and it will go straight away no worries and most agencies will take care of the wankers (legal requirement here) or you can air b&b it and make a fair wedge but that comes with problems of its own You have access to anywhere in Spain and locally you have everything you could want (beach, parks, mountains, culture etc etc) I wouldn't and don't live in the city. Buy outside in the sticks or a village and it will rarely rent out, the locals will absolutely hate you (except the over friendly guy that every bar has ) there will be difficult public transport (although it is still really good and way better than Blighty) but it will be really peaceful and if you make good with the locals, eventually you will get invited to hunt with the village and after that you'll be one of them..... sort of 3 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
