Lifespan of crosses

Recommended Posts

purebreds have too many ginetic flaws being passed on to the next generation and by outcrossing, somthing called hybrid vigour is produced thus prolonging life and being slightly less suseptable to certain ills. well somthing like that anyway! dont remember much from scholl only the interesting stuff.lol  im sure other lads on here can put you straight where ive got it a bit wrong!

i've heard the same and heard others contradict it by saying Regardless of the cross you can still pass on the genetic flaw to the pups, meaning you'll have weak mixed breeds, and i suppose that may true to an extent if you have a lame breeding program. many mutts ARE suffering from the same ailments as purebreds.

But i think if you keep track of both parents bloodlines you can avoid that, or at LEAST reduce the chances?
