dazdidge 0
hi everyone, just managed to salvage a Webley Hawk M2 before it got binned, it doesn't look in too bad cosmetic shape but mechanically speaking I think it is need of some TLC. It has been sitting in a garage unused for a few years so first off I stripped it down and gave it a good clean and lube. When cocking it, it is a bit crunchy and seems to be lacking a bit of power. Can anyone tell me where to get some parts, ie seals, springs etc? What was the original power rating? I am not interested in taking it over 12ft/lb but would like to get it up there. I bought a box of .22 pellets for it today to try out but they even look at a piece of old wood I had lying in my garden. Any help, advice or pointers to websites would be much appreciated, I have tried googling but haven't had much joy. thanks in advance darren Quote Link to post

dazdidge 0
thanks for the reply, found their site and a nice big diagram of parts, will hopefully order some bits on monday, in the meantime I think I might get the sandpaper out and redo the stock. One other question which I should have asked earlier, would this air rifle be any use for rabbits when up to strength or would I be better buying something more powerful for that? cheers darren Quote Link to post

jasper65 6
My brother had one of these a good few years back. like Lucky said they come with interchangable barrels which unscrew and nipped tight in the top of the block with a grub screw, they're definitley not 12ft/lbs but pretty easy to strip! I think you'll also find they had a piston much like a car piston with two rings fitted for the seal. You'll need to remove the cocking lever, back block and the trigger and sear before you can remove the piston but you'll steam it when you get going on it, the safety catch on this model was nice cause it was a full auto type and right on your thump at the back of the block... dazdidge 0
I spent the day yesterday stripping it down properly and it was manky, before cleaning I couldn't even get it to penetrate some wood I had lying about. So it got a really good clean and gave the piston and tube a wee polish with some autosol, I don't have any of the correct lubricants yet so I used a very light oil that I normally use in a refrigerant compressor just to see how it was going to work. Well I must say it has improved drastically! It is now burrying pellets full length into a piece of half inch timber, don't know if it should be more or less powerful but it's a good start. The piston seals have got quite noticeable scoring on them so they'll be replaced as soon as christmas is over, as well as a new spring and cocking lever as the one on it is quite badly worn. The safety catch is also not working as the spring is missing from it, maybe been taken out on purpose by someone? But apart from that I'm pretty pleased so far Cheers Darren Quote Link to post
