beany01 223
Hello, well in the last Hour or so I have made up 2 x 10 yard and a 30 yard quick set longnet. I can see why net riggers like making these up, they are a doddle compared to rigging herring and Mack nets. Just one Gill on a herring net is 240 knots. The one thing I dont like about these is all the knots are supposed to be clove hitches, like around the grommets, and with a nylon braid, they don't seem to bite particularly well, so each end pole I attached them with 4 turn grinner knots, which work very well with nylon. The intermediate poles still have clove hitches but while moving them about the garden, I've had a couple slip. Does anyone else use different knots on the grommets?
