Jonjon79 13,360
Right then - I've just done round 2 before I start work and, to be honest, I'm none the wiser ........ I might pick a couple of the favourites and go for a chrono session and longer range testing on my next day off I had a quick rezero with the Baracuda Hunter Extreme first then, put through a 10 shot group of each - same as yesterday - indoors, standing, rested. JSB Heavy. 10.34gn. 4.52mm. These were a lot easier to seat than the Baracudas (softer lead). They may have produced slightly less felt recoil - if they did, it wasn't much at all. Bisley Magnum. 10.5gn. 4.50mm. Another one that needed seating properly - not difficult to push in but, you can feel them meet the rifling. These had the least felt recoil of all the pellets tested. It's not what I'd call a docile shot cycle but, they're easy to shoot. JSB Exact. 8.44gn. 4.53mm. These went in very easy but, not loose. The shot cycle gave a not unpleasant very quick thump. H&N FTT. 8.64gn. 4.50mm. Like all the other German pellets, theses needed seating properly. The shot cycle was very similar to the Exacts - a quick predictable thump. These also gave a noticeably louder impact than the other pellets. This has all been a bit of a surprise learning curve for me - I didn't expect the pellets to have such an effect on how a springer feels so, I thought it would be helpful to stick my findings up for anyone that's wanting to have a tinker. Atb Ps, all the weights and sizes are from the tins again. Quote Link to post
