richie 1
had an invite today from a THL member that needed a hand to work a piece of land. arrived at his at 7am and headed to the first plot. the farmer said he had seen a hundred rabbits there " we all know what farmers are like " , anyway we ended up taking a bit of time netting up & throwing the longnet around just incase any slipped. we ended up with 2 from that hedge line on two sets and missed a few that bolted from in accessable holes... always the way.. the next place we went the farmer said he had seen a few so we headed off. it was a warren just off a pathway & about 20yds from where light aircraft took off & landed, so these rabbits were use to noise.. we netted up around 45 holes & once again threw the longnet around, as we were laying the nets i could hear thumping from under ground, so thought we might get a few from here... we put the ferrets down, within the next 5 minutes we had our first, over the next 40 minutes we accounted for a total of 10 from that warren. in total we ended up with 12 which wasnt too bad concidering how the morning started off.. just like to say thanks to ferret110 for the invite on your permission. top bloke... richie would have had more photos but it was all hands on...
