Minkenry 1,044
What have you done there caught a wild mink and use it as a ferret lol? No, not quite. Mink and ferrets are really quite different. What a ferret is good at, a mink isn't very good for. Some things a ferret can't do, a mink can do with ease. It seems to me the two animals have more differences than similarities. I do hunt some brown rats and rabbits, the traditional quarry of ferreters, but I also hunt animals that ferrets would struggle to be very good at hunting. Like the muskrat in this video. From what I've been told by ferret guys who have tried, ferreting for muskrats is not something that ends well for the ferret. I did once here of a big aggressive hob that was a great muskrat hunter, but he ended up being killed by a mink, which is no surprise since mink commonly live in empty muskrat dens. Along with muskrats, my mink also hunt.... Squirrels- Kangaroo Rats- Chipmunks- Fish (in tank)- Fish (in nature)- Here's a picture of a 6kg goose my young 835 gram mink Fang took down a month or two ago (Fang is the same mink as the one shown taking down the muskrat in the video I originally posted). This is to date the largest animal I've personally seen a mink take down. I REALLY wish I could have gotten a video of Fang on that goose!!! Edited December 7, 2016 by Minkenry 1 Quote Link to post
