Lamping

Out last night down the dales there was a good wind blowing when we set off but when we got down it had dropped right off had a look out with Buckshot and 2 mates it was nice and black but with the wind dropping off the rabbits were up and running soon as the lamp was on them so it ment we had to give the dogs longer slips. The dogs were getting runs and picking up a few rabbits my mates big brindle dog was running when he disappeared out of the lamp and we heard a sickening thud at first we thought he had hit a wall or a fence as we made our way to where he disappeared thinking the worst he came slowly back up the beam got a look at him he had some blood in his mouth and was holding his front leg after a few minutes he was walking ok and the blood had stopped in his mouth we went and had a look we he had gone it was a steep bank that went down to the river he was one lucky dog to be still in one piece we made our way back to the van picking the odd rabbit up on the way the dog was a bit stiff when we got home so my mate is taking him to the vets to get him check over.

FM he ran ok but he was still a bit stiff on that back leg when i walked them out today.
