maty j 6
after LL's topic earlyer on in the year i thought id have a go at making some sloe gin. well, i picked what i thought were sloes only later to be told that they were bullaces. now i had a quick sip and tastes too sweet to me, sort of cough syrup'y. is it just a case of when i decant it to top up with gin to taste or do i add something else to counteract the excess suger etc?? the proper sloe gin however isnt too bad. cheers, maty. I also add a few drops of almond essence. try using vodka instead of gin for a nice change.
