forest of dean redneck 12,023 Posted November 20, 2007 Report Share Posted November 20, 2007 im no expert on this but have seen this x mentioned twice in books,the first was that the author frank sheardown i think mentioned the only pure setters he seen once let out would vanish off the horizon,and the other might have been a richard jefferies book,and it was a setter x lurcher that was an excellant hare dog and some gentleman bought it before the keepers got to shoot it as they had an eye out for it.this was back in victorian times i think.
