well it is my first time keeping ferrits, i am used to going out with the gun and my two labs.but latley have found after walking for very long distances theres very little above ground. seeing plenty of signs that there, there. so any boddy about my neck of the woods has or knows of one that would be brill. it would need to be very tame and be well handled. any tips on keeping them would be great .cheers horse.

firstly mate, totally wrong section to post in, this is dogs, you want the ferret section, secondly, if you aint kept ferrets before, you'll want more than just "tips" so my tip would be go get a good book covering all aspects of keeping ferrets etc

not many people are gonna wanna part with a fert at this time of year, plus you want a well handled one, so maybe a rescue centre?

if not and you have no joy, Id say spend till next year reading up on them, getting hutches built/bought etc, then get a youngster next year, that you can handle daily

SO WHATS HAPPENING HERE???? when I wrote this reply is was in the running dog section :hmm::no:

any animal will bite mate, depends how you look after it,

if you had a dog, that you chucked food too, never handled or played with, never respected, then Im sure one day it would bite you, the same goes for anything, even us humans,

any work animal or pet, will only give, what you put into it, treat it with respect and kindess and you'll reap the rewards from it, handled from a young age, ferts are no different from puppies, yes you'll get the odd nip, cos they dont know that your finger aint a morsal of food, but like any animal, they learn, as we all do

beliving people that say ferts are nasty dangerous things, is tarring them all with the same brush

it would be like us southerners beliving everything we hear bout northerners(not me of course, my otherhalf is one)
