Anyone ferret the above locations seems to be plenty of rabbits about moved here few months ago can't wait for the season to start, reckon there's guna be some good days out

Good luck, with a bit of luck you may have a few before the mixie hits. It's been the same for the last 20 odd years, plenty of rabbits in the Summer, then come Autumn the mixie hits and the rest of the Winter you are scrambling around for a couple of rabbits.

They are hopping about every where till the end of the summer then they get knocked back plus if you wait for the cover to die back they will be breeding again by the time that happens

doing some fencing for a farmer the other day plenty of rabbits there 800 acre dairy farm he said your welcome to go whenever you want but there will be nothing left after the mixxy hits said it happens every year there must be true if your saying same petty the hedges were cralling with them, gutting news

Up to about 23 / 25 years ago Pembroke, Cardigan and Carmarthenshire were crawling with rabbits in pockets. I used to catch a lot of rabbits a year averaged around 20 a trip. Now I am lucky if I get into double figures for the year.

Mixxy hits every were no more so than Herefordshire but they always managed to hold at least half there numbers into the early winter months before they got lamped to death and then we still managed tens to 20s every time out [BANNED TEXT] through to febuary, must be super mixxy down here to hit them that hard

I used to do a bit around Eardsley, as you say always have a few though out the Winter. The latest it has hit here recently was about 7 years ago when it did not hit till November. I managed odd rabbits that year from around me. Best year I have had local for about 20 years.

 

I reckon the mixie kills at least % every year here, and it could be due any week from now on. I used to work in a large works and in the summer evenings when working afternoons I would take a walk around the grounds in my break, it was nothing to count 200+ rabbits. Same walk in September and I would be lucky to see a couple.

Plenty of rabbits in eardisley and a few hares and Kington' well got a few farms here so far will keep getting them ready for season if its as bad as you say when time comes it will be 200 mile round trips :-)

I no for a small orchard there riddled last year and a few fields surrounding it got a mate who lives in weobley not to far from there we've had 20 and 30s from there 5 years on the trot

As with everywhere there are pockets, if you can find them. Drop into a pocket and you can do well.
