Lee Fellows 0
Afternoon everyone, Can anyone help me get back into shooting on farm land, I gave up my licence a number of years ago up in cheshire plus the 2 farms I was allowed to shoot on big mistake! I have now moved into West Sussex and would love to get back into the sport and reapply for my licence but finding land is near impossible, I'm also willing to pay if anyone has land available. If anyone can help please PM me. Fingers crossed Lee Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
Persevere, there's always land out there for those that try hard enough Start small and a reputation amongst farmers soon spreads, they liket to talk, alot. Quote Link to post
charlie caller 3,654
When you say license, do you mean sgc, or fac if the latter what were you shooting? It would be relatively easy to book some deer stalking in Sussex, if you mean sgc then you do not need any land, clay shooting is justification enough, if you had a rifle would you not still have permission on your previous farms, just because they are out of your county of residence now does not mean you wont be granted on the basis of those farms. Lee Fellows 0
Hi, Thanks for the reply, The farms where in Cheshire and a little too far for me to travel now. I'm after getting my FAC back I've joined a club but its going to be a few months before getting my FAC back but my real passion is shooting on farm land. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated Lee Quote Link to post
charlie caller 3,654
Yes the farms in Cheshire may be a little too far for more than a couple of trips a year, but there is no reason why you could not have them as your reason for an fac! This would enable you to get a rifle conditioned for land, then you are in a stronger position when you find some ground locally, its up to you mate but I know what I would do instead of buggering around with having your ticket conditioned for range shooting and then getting a variation when you find local land, you do not say what you were shooting, but if it was deer, why not apply on the basis of your existing land, and book some stalking locally in the meantime, get out and do some door knocking, if you have a skill/trade to offer mention this when you ask, keep at it and you will get some. 3 Quote Link to post
