rabbit slayer 22
Thought i go out for a quick hour with the ferrets and my new lurcher pup today. A quick hour soon turned into a full afternoon. First burry i came to looked promising so i netted up, collard up the ferrets and left the burry to settle for a few mins before entering my jill. After 20 mins got out the locater and scanned the burry for a location. There she was 6 feet down and wasn't going anywhere, so got the spade and started digging down stopping to check every few mins to see if the jill has moved on, but she didnt. Lucky i was only digging through sand so it didnt take to long to brake through. When i reached a mark of about 1 foot i carefully scraped through and there she was at a stop end with a mixyed rabbit. So i backfilled the hole to stop anyone or somebody dog from falling in then moved on a few hundred yards to another group of burry's that i knew held some decent sized rabbits, again netted up sat back for five, then entered the jill. hoping to show the young bitch a bolted rabbit in a net, but again there was no bolt so out comes the locator again. This time only 4 feet, dug down to find another mixyed rabbit. Decided to call it a day as the young bitch started getting bored and the weather started to change for the worst. Going out again at the week end somewhere different though. Aint uploaded the pics to the pc yet but ill get them up soon. Happy hunting RS Quote Link to post
