SNAP SHOT 194 Posted October 24, 2007 Report Share Posted October 24, 2007 you are entitled to hold a shotgun cert at 16 let no garda tell you differently, you may however be just granted a training cert to begin with and have somone with experience to take you out shooting for a set period, but thenagain this may not happen, depending on the super in question. you have to reach certain basic requirements which are. you have a secure place to store gun and ammunition. have a good reason for having a gun. that you are not a disentitled person that you will pose no danger to the public, safety or peace, of the community. if conditions are set get them in writing from the super. being a member of a local gun club helps....... the best of luck Quote Link to post
