I remember the time (not that long ago) you could buy shotguns and rimfire rifles (even single shot pistols in .22 rf ) in the French Supermarche's without any form of licence. Those were the days, but regarding EU law the French had to adjust their legislation according the Brussels rules, so that's no longer a go go. The once quite liberal gun laws have changed for the worse every where in Europe, they all have to comply with EU legislation. More urban, than countryside orientated, these laws...... Yes, there are still lots of guns in circulation that have never been registered, if you know where to look. It's not unusual to see a .22 rifle or pistol for sale at a car boot sale...! Not that I'd ever buy anything like that, of course... There are various laws made in Paris by townies that just sort of fade away as you leave the city. Quote Link to post
