I really wish people wouldnt tie their dogs up outside shops :( It only takes a moment for someone to untie the dog and take off with it. You wouldnt leave your purse or wallet in the street outside a shop, you wouldnt leave your bag or coat, and you certainly wouldnt tie your kids up to a lamp post and tell them to wait while you nip inside so why oh why do people think its ok to tie the dog up while they go in the shop?

I really hope you get your dog back, if you do, please have him tattooed and microchipped as it will make him easier to identify and trace, and please never let him out of your sight again.

Sincerely hope he is found safe and well soon! A friend of mine has just gone through the same thing although her dog was not stolen he bolted when approached by an aggressive dog. Thankfully he was found, I hope you have some good news soon.

thankyou so much for all your help -the only good thing to happen is folk's generosity....of course it goes without saying you shouldn't leave 'em outside a shop but Dave was walking home from exercising on the common, stepped into the shop to get a paper, watching the dog all this time when a bloke stood in his view and another took Buddy -under a minute -i think he was followed and obviously they couldn't believe their luck as the opportunity presented itself. he will never forgive himself and he and his wife are utterly destroyed by this. i assume dog thieves have no idea of the damage they do.....
