Guest Ditch_Shitter
Just popped in here to add a note, folks; Whilst I appreciate all the good wishes, this is Not a thread aimed at reminding anyone that I took a Dog on under circumstances such as which I'd like to think most of us here would have done the same. Nor is it to blow my own trumpet about how she's shaping up. The reason for my initial post, above, was to just tell ye that I've started her Training and that I'm working by the methods proscribed for a man I have Immense respect for Jon N frequents a world of top class Trainers and Sports Dog people. And he's perfectly content and secure in telling them all that what they do is fine by him ~ but not his way. A Dog with a Gold Medal in Schutzhund is fine by the guy. But it's not his cup of tea. He also laughs up his sleeve as others discuss various " Drives " (He once dismissed all that to me in completely down to earth terms and, frankly, had me nodding vehemently in agreement, even as I peed with laughter at his irreverent approach!) I've never yet seen him done up in a Bite Suit or wearing a big Sleeve. When Jon Aggitates a Dog, the only thing between him and GBH is a fraction of an inch and second. Yep; The guy's a nutter! He's also my idol. And following his simple instructions is what's turning Chain from a scatter brained tank into the Dog I've just this afternoon been once again calmly strolling round my grounds with! I took her out again an hour ago and she hadn't forgotten a thing from last night. I tell ye; If I could've set my camera on a wall and walked back and forth past it, I'd have shown ye! Maybe next time Dean O' drops by we'll be able to arrange a glimpse of how the Dog who once dragged me twenty seven yards on my face is Now handling ~ Purely Thanks to Jon N!
