doie1 22
The wait is the longest ever, but well worth it Quote Link to post
shropshire dan 467
The way I looked at it is the longer I wait the more I save Quote Link to post
Barky 24
Gone for .22 and .17hmr... Did have .223 as I do a lot of fox shooting with a friends .222 but they said go for them first and then at a later date put in for a .223. So time to save for the .17hmr first Quote Link to post
shropshire dan 467
Thats the same as me. I was refused .223 until I gained a little experience with the rimfires. Ive now been told I can have a .223 and a open ticket. The hmrs are very versatile, flat and amazingly accurate. However If I had to get rid of 1 of my rimfires it would be the hmr, as when I get the .223 I don't see a great need for the hmr. I have a late 70's brno mod2 .22lr and its an awesome little rifle very quiet and accurate and cheap to feed Quote Link to post
doie1 22
I applied for .22 .17hmr and 223 and was granted all 3 on the condition that with the 223 go out with a mentor, I've got my 17hmr maybe wait 12 months for the 223 and hopefully I won't need a mentor. Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
Gone for .22 and .17hmr... Did have .223 as I do a lot of fox shooting with a friends .222 but they said go for them first and then at a later date put in for a .223. So time to save for the .17hmr first If you have the reason to possess it then they should grant it to you. I know that you don't want to rock the boat on a first grant but they are duty bound to show why they refuse to grant you a certain calibre, If you have the experience of shooting with a borrowed rifle, then that should be taken into account so any claim of "public safety" being the reason for refusal can easily be quashed, Sounds like the usual bullying tactics. shropshire dan 467
I dont mind really as it's only taken a few months to show safety and responsibilitie. He said I can gave bigger but I don't need bigger than a .222 or 223 Quote Link to post
