Ideation 8,217
Anyone ever kept them? I ended up with a pair of yellow goldens and a pair of lady amhersts today. Never kept them before, but figured that they can't be much different from regular pheasants.
jrod 0
I had Reeves pheasants before. That cock bird was a mean S.O.B. He had a huge tail on him but everytime I went into the cage he would attack and he had some serious spurs, real long and sharp. We gave him to our taxidermist as some payment towards some animals. now he is on the wall. That ooughtta teach him.
SportingShooter 0
Reared a few Golden, Silver and Lady Amherst's in my teens from eggs that were given to me and kept them on a family member's farm who kept a lot of ornamental stuff, They were quite happy in among the guinea fowl
morton 5,369
The majority of Golden and Lady Amethyst pheasants are mongrelised between them,as they readily interbreed they need keeping apart.Ive kept and bred many pheasant species,Goldens and Lady A,s are easy to keep and breed, basically a chicken diet and accomadation, with a roof on.
