Anyone Ever Scattered A Few Game Cover Seeds In Their Pens For Cover?

hi all

 

im considering chucking a bag of mustard or turnip seed around and in one of my pheasant pens because it feels a bit empty and lacking ground cover at the moment, only the second year it been used just gone. just wondering if anyone else has ever done this.

chicory and reed canary grass are good choices once established they last a nice few years best thing though really is to open up the canopy and let the light in

& by doing so the brash will give you some cover till nature takes its course
