" ShootaLite " is made by " CluLite " Jules. I have one myself. So has my mate Dean O'. Dean also owns Two 'Lamp Farce' jobs. When we were out together last night, guess which ones we were carrying? ;) Third time lucky for Dean O'. I simply stood back and watched how his purchases performed and, once I saw the Clulite Shootalite, I knrw I'd found the grail and bought one myself.

It clamps onto ye scope ~ at what ever angle ye prefer it. Then ye can simply pull the lamp off (it's small enough to hold quite comfortably in ye hand for 'taking a look') and aim it around the fields. Spot something? Slot it back onto its spigot and ye ready for business.

Have a friend to do the searching for ye? No problemmo! Slot it onto it's 'hand held' handle and leave them to it. The battery pack even has a built in slot to hold the handled lamp. (When I'm out and about, I just pop the lamp head in my jacket pocket as I walk on)

Has a coiled flex and a bloody great rocker switch which ~ whilst perhaps seeming a bit over kill on a mild evening ~ could prove invaluable on a freezing night when ye adrenalin's coursing through ye veins and ye have gloved hands!

Beam's adjustable and throws a good spot for comfortably past the 100 yard mark. Ye won't find better!

Ian's just reccomended it. He's the boss. I reccomend it and, in the words of Annie Lenox: " Would I lie to ye, honey? "

What'll you be shooting Julia and with what calibre firearm?

I've both the Lightforce 140 Lance and 170 Striker. I use either of them on my 12ga and .22lr (for bunnies or foxes) and the Striker on my .223 used solely for foxing.

They can both be attached to scopes, and to shotguns of any type if you get the underbarrel bracket. Also the scope mounted versions are easy to hold in the hand as they are.

Lightforce have the best beam out there for shooting by a country mile. By turning the reflector housing you can have a narrow or flood beam, and also if you play witht he bulbs seating depth you can adjust your beam even more.

I'd reccomend one with a dimmer switch, and if you're centrefire shooting the Striker, the Lance will do for rimfire shooting.

The catch is their wiring connections, but that is easily sorted. I'm not handy with gadgets and I did mine and they won't let you down then. Highly reccomended!

It came today and it seems fine but my mate says thats not the one I should have got? Am I to take it that I can lamp with this just as well as any other? He says I should have got a laserlite? What is the difference between shootalite and laserlite? Ive never had my own lamp before :icon_redface: Ive always used someone elses. Any help will be much appreciated. :D

F*ck sake, Jule! Ye have a legal limit Air Rifle there, not a .243. Just ask your mate why it is ye should have any other lamp. Get their full explanation, pro's and con's, then reproduce it all here so that we might all learn something.

That, or get out there and start enjoying yeself.

By the way, as an aside; When I bought mine, I was told ~ in no uncertain terms ~ that a ShootaLite must NEVER be allowed to completely run flat. Ye know how they say ye mobile's battery will work best after it's been completely discharged a couple of times? Don't do that with the lamp, apparrently.

In fact, speaking from experiance, I'd say put it back on charge every time ye come home. Unlike me! Fact is, I'm in the habit of slipping out as the mood takes me. And I 'always' go alone, see? Well, the other night, my mate Dean O' had something he wanted to show me so we both went out with our rifles. But I left my lamp at home, figuring we could work off Deans and he could take the closer shots while I'd take care of any longer range stuff. Within 100 yards up the track, I was inwardly screaming for my own lamp, so I could check where I was used to looking. Back I came and got it.

Now, the last time we went out together, Deans light seemed to have a slight edge on my one. Not much, but noticable. This time however?! Christ almighty! It was patently clear that mine was well on the way out! Dean was sending this bright, white beam of light out across the fields. I was barely making shadows dance at twenty five yards! Fact is, I'd been out so often, without noticing how the been was gradually dimminishing night by night, that I never bothered to recharge it.

I switched off. We finished our patrol and I plugged my charger in. For Twenty Four Hours!!! Took it outside for a test shine? Shit myself! There was my donkey, 130 yards away, turning his head this way and that, as if to say; " Will ye for f*ck sake turn that f*cking thing off?! "

So, in a word; Be sure to keep it maxed :good:

I'll PM ye presently, about something not for public consumption ;)

Thanks for that Ditch! :D I got the PM and have taken FULL notice of what you said :ok: :good: My mate says its a great lamp for my rifle but wont be as good when we go out without the rifles and just the lurchers. He's suggested a Lazerlite double bulb for this that will plug into the battery pack. I've ordered it now so I'll have two great lamps. :D Roll on next friday when I'll be trying both out :drink:
