Outlaw Pete 2,224
And it's not getting any easier. It's just been rain, rain, rain, so far. Mean't me rushing my traps in and out like a thing demented. But, I was still averaging half a dozen a day. Now? Second day of clear weather. But, I'm struggling to catch them. Simple fact is, see; I've caught and ringed most of what's out there now! And, obviously, trapped birds aren't so easy to catch again in a hurry. Three, so far, today then. Think I only had the One, yesterday! What it is; It's this new trap DJH made me. With it being such a revolutionary idea and all that, it occurred that I might like to get a true sense of how it compared. Thus I started (after a week or so of using it, probably) recording not just what I caught. But also, which trap I caught it in. It's great! I have three types of trap out there. All within a foot or two of each other. All baited the same. None's at any advantage. And, f**k me! This new trap's patently streets ahead! The other two are catching, of course. They always have done. It's just that this new one must be taking three birds to either of their ones! I want to tell the BTO about all this, see? But, because I'm no good with figures ~ unless they're 38-24-36 ~ I simply need to trap 100 birds. Then, even I ~ with a little help from the calculator! ~ should be able to knock out dead precise percentages for each type of trap How cool's that, eh? Real science. What the BTO's all about. Can't just go to a load of Doctors and Phd's saying; " F**k, yeah! My new trap catches shit loads! " Though, knowing how young and perfectly 'normal' half of them are? I wouldn't be surprised if, on seeing my figures, they say to eachother: " F**k me! That new trap of his is catching shit loads! "
