Outlaw Pete 2,224
This actually meshes well with the image shown in DTD's post. That dear little ABCR goldie, sat on his hand and feeding off it I've been out all day. Got back with a bare hour or two of daylight left. But, of course, I just Had To get the traps out! Bingo! In next to no time, DJH's new trap had done it again. I had a gorgeous little female siskin! And she was un ringed! Fetched her in here. Burbled gently to her and called her " Sweetheart " as I rung her and gently teased down her primaries on the wing rule. She was simply such an enchanting little thing. So quiet and calm. I'm sorry. I couldn't help myself but to softly plant a kiss on the top of her nut! Into the pepper pot. Weight noted. Swiftly to the door ..... And, for some reason ~ maybe because she was so still and small, I felt she'd just slide straight out the up ended pot ~ I held my left hand, just beneath it. So she could fall out onto my hand. And she did. But, rather than slipping out. Bouncing, belly down, off my hand and flying off in the same instant; She actually dropped out of the pot. Landed squarely on her little feet. Grippy little claws firmly holding my finger. To glance left and right. Before deciding, " Yep. I'll f**k off to those trees, over there." And was gone in a whirr. Christ. I think I've just had my Second " Ultimate Ringing Experience ". Holding that tree creeper has ever since been the absolute high light of my ringing life. Having a wild, just processed, siskin actually perch there, on my finger, whilst she decides where to go next ~ even just for a second or two ..... I'm f**king choked. Even just thinking about it. One of the most pricelessly beautiful experiences of my life, quite frankly
