Stigodadump 64
These old tubs are one of the most underestimated 4x4 vehicles out there. I have owned this one for about a year now and it will pull anything and plug across boggy ground and very rough terrain. It is not as spacious as a shogun or such like but it more than makes up for it in the ground clearance and flexibility departments. I use mine with the rear seats folded down and a dog guard on the back of the front seats. I can drive into a field, light up the victim and press the rear window switch to release one of the dogs. I have a twin compartment dog box in the back as well and it still leaves ample room for all the usual hunting gear and a loose dog. The other thing is they are dirt cheap to buy and easy to work on, including lifting the suspension and fitting decent tyres and lights etc mine stands me at around a grand. Having said that I did all the work myself including making lift spacers and rock sliders etc. If it's a cheap strong work horse you want then these tick all the boxes! tillylamp 1,902
hi, I think your right mate, my brother had one brand new in 1998, I think it was a 2.5td manual, and he said I was good on fuel and worked well off road, I liked it, it seemed very good, ive never owned one but i wouldn't hesitate to have one. thanks tillylamp
Stigodadump 64
This is a 2.5TD 1998 as well. It will do 42mpg on a long run or around 32 dodging about local. Towing the loaded tri-axle drops it to around the 26 mark but it will pull my 3 tonne digger up anything and not break sweat! The V&M diesel engine has a bad reputation in the head department but like any vehicle, if they are well serviced you can't go wrong.
